APPOINTMENTS DURING THE CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK
March 2020
Because of concerns about the coronavirus, I have decided to implement a telemedicine consultation service. I hope by doing so that I can provide non-urgent care for minor or recurrent ailments. These would be things that normally we would want to evaluate in person.
How it will work: call me at 252-202-8460 and leave a message to request a telemedicine appointment. You may also send me an email to 1kindvet@gmail.com. I will contact you and set up a time for the appointment. I will ask you to send me pictures of your pet's issues (for example: red ears, or skin irritations). If appropriate, I'll have you send me a short video (if your dog is limping, for example). During our consultation, we will discuss the case and the proposed treatment. If medications are appropriate, I will either drop them off at your house or call them in to a pharmacy.
There will be a consultation fee for this service.
This service is restricted to my active clients and patients. I am prohibited by the Veterinary Practice Act (and professional ethics) from offering this service for a pet that I have not examined in person recently. I'm sorry, but I can not make any exceptions to this important rule.
I am continuing to offer in home appointments for select cases (end of life care and other time-critical services like puppy and kitten boosters) for established clients. Once the coronavirus restrictions have been eased I will resume normal business with in-home visits to established and new clients.
Please stay safe, and I'll look forward to seeing you in person soon!
